Portfolio & References

With over 15 years of dedicated experience as a translator, I’ve worked on large volumes of content from English and German into my native language, Spanish. While I can’t show you specific excerpts due to the confidentiality obligations outlined in my non-disclosure agreements, I invite you to explore a curated selection of projects and references that highlight my expertise. If you’d like to know more, please contact me. I’ll be happy to provide more information.

Published translations on politics and constitutional & public law

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing some of my translations published in print. One of them was a huge project encompassing over 30,000 words within a book with 100+ pages. This involved the translation from German into Spanish of the Political Parties Act of the Federal Republic of Germany and the statutes of the German political party CDU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany [German: Christlich Demokratische Union Deutschlands]).

For a closer look, feel free to explore the book Marco de referencia para partidos politicos modernos [A framework for modern political parties], published by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, here.

My translation from German into Spanish of the essay “Participación ciudadana en el nivel federal” [Citizen participation at the federal level] by Tobias Montag was also published. The digital version is available here.

Translations available online: The Lafayette Connection newsletter for the city of Lafayette

For almost a decade, I’ve had the honor of translating “The Lafayette Connection”, a monthly newsletter for the charming city of Lafayette in Colorado, U.S. These newsletters are available online here.

Through this and many other projects, I’ve had the privilege of working with Rosabelle, owner of a prominent translation company in Lafayette, on a variety of initiatives over many years. Her kind words about our collaboration are a testament to the successful synergy we’ve cultivated over time:

I have had the honor and the joy of having Agustina translate for my company coming up on 10 years. Her work has been exemplary, timely, precise, punctual and linguistically excellent. Her translations for me have ranged from our City Newsletters to Medical to Legal Documentation and Contracts. The beauty of her work is that little to no post-editing is required of her work. In fact, when our clients’ bilingual staff members have tried to change her work, it has resulted in them learning more about the proper use of the Spanish language and ultimately no changes were made. I cannot say enough about my regard for Agustina as a translator. I feel so fortunate to have her on our team.

English into Spanish translation of the Development and Disarmament Roundtable series of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists

For almost five years, I took on the challenge of translating contributions from prominent scientists and academics for the Development and Disarmament Roundtable series in the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. In addition to translating the authors’ biographies, I delved into complex and highly technical subjects.

com

Lucien Crowder, the Bulletin’s senior editor, explains in his own words:

I am senior editor at the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, a publication devoted to issues such as nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation, nuclear energy, and climate change. For five years I was responsible for our Development and Disarmament Roundtable series. For much of those five years, Agustina González Grucci translated the Roundtables into Spanish—and her performance was simply stellar. In a demanding position that required her to accurately translate large amounts of challenging text, she never failed to deliver what was wanted. She rearranged her schedule for the Bulletin’s sake when necessary. She worked professionally with outside translation reviewers who ensured that her work was rigorously accurate. Agustina always presented herself as professional, cheerful, and very, very competent. I am grateful to have had her. You will not go wrong if you employ Agustina

Swiss German and English (UK/US) into Spanish (Spain/Latam) translations for a legal translation company based in Switzerland, since 2011

I’ve been a freelance translator and proofreader for more than a decade, specializing in translations from Swiss German and English (UK/US) into Spanish (Spain/Latam), for a leading Swiss legal translation company. My professional journey with them began at the start of my career. For over a decade, I’ve been involved in translating and editing virtually all types of legal documents for this esteemed client.

I’ve also worked with this company for over three years as a translator and proofreader on several projects for various European Union bodies. All translations carried out for the European Union are proofread by the staff of the European Union bodies and evaluated by their in-house translators. My translations have always been approved with excellent feedback.

Isabelle, Project Manager at this company, shares her thoughts:

Agustina is an extremely diligent and dedicated translator. The quality of her work is excellent and working with her a great pleasure. I can only recommend her.

German and English into Spanish legal translations

For many years, I worked with a fellow lawyer-linguist who reviewed my translations from English and German into Spanish. My extensive portfolio of translated documents includes terms and conditions, contracts, articles of association, master and framework agreements, privacy policies, disclaimers, commercial register extracts, powers of attorney and a host of others. My esteemed colleague offers the following insights:

I had the pleasure to review/proofread Agustina's translations while I was working as an in-house Lawyer Linguist. Agustina is unique among the translators with whom I have worked. She was by far the most reliable, accurate and punctual, with an impressive expertise in legal terminology. Always delivering top quality even under challenging deadlines. Even more important, Agustina was always kind, honest and open for discussion in case of doubts, clearly exceeding my expectations in every project she delivered. One feels she is passionate about her work. She always strived to serve our interests in the most effective manner possible. I obviously did not hesitate to write this comment and would not hesitate a second to ask for her expertise if one day I had to source external translations for my current firm.
